Innovation for sustainable living : the Oopsmark bicycle wine rack is a new and original product catering to the growing bike community. Aiming to create tools for an urban living, the bicycle wine rack accessorises bikes in a new way that facilitates the bicycle lifestyle. Handmade in Montreal’s Mile End neighborhood, Oopsmark combines style and function in a leather bicycle wine rack that is perfect for taking wine with you on the go. Crafted from high quality hardware and vegetable tanned leather, the rack is a great looking durable product that will age beautifully. The bicycle wine rack snugly clamps most (up to a 1.5″) frames and will help you carry any 3″ diameter bottle of varying length. The Bicycle Wine Rack was born from the prompt of a friend to find a good and stylish way to carry wine by bike. While Oopsmark mostly works with leather, the design was inspired by beautiful previously acquired reclaimed hardware.   V.

Le rack à vin pour vélo est un accessoire qui facilite le mode de vie à vélo et s’inscrit dans la philosophie de Oopsmark : créer des outils pour la vie urbaine. Fait à la main dans le quartier Mile End de Montréal, Oopsmark combine style et fonction dans un rack en cuir parfait pour transporter une bouteille de vin. Faits de quincaillerie de haute qualité et de cuir tanné à l’huile végétale, les racks sont des produits durables qui vieillissent en toute beauté. Le rack à vin pour bicyclette s’agrippe fermement aux cadres de vélo pour vous aider à transporter n’importe quelle bouteille de diamètre de 3 pouces. On cherchait un moyen de transporter son vin à vélo avec style. Le voici! Même si Oopsmark travaille majoritairement avec le cuir comme matériel, le design est inspiré par de très belles pièces de quincaillerie usagées qui ne demandaient qu’un projet unique pour les mettre en valeur. 

The Founder and Designer

Jesse Herbert is a designer, engineer, entrepreneur, musician and jack of many trades living in Montreal, Canada. Best known for his invention of the bicycle wine rack, he has designed and handmade thousands of unique items in Montreal, Ottawa & Los Angeles. He believes that to be a great designer , one must be a great builder and visa versa. His latest tools for urban living are available through his project Oopsmark.ca. Creativity, curiosity and industriousness have been the focus of his life since his childhood where he learned piano and guitar in his first studio, built and destroyed things in his first workshop and practiced the art of entrepreneurship with his brothers. Both a student of Industrial Design, at the University of Carleton, and a graduate from the University of Waterloo Mechanical Engineering Co-op program, Jesse has spent his life studying how things are made and practicing the implementation of his designs. Though his engineering pursuits led him to work for dozens of employers in the environmental technology and production sectors, his passion lies in collaborating with more creative minds, helping them bring concepts to physical reality. Since moving to Montreal in 2009 he has served as a consultant with a variety of creative organizations and artist. More recently, he’s collaborated with Cirque de Soleil, a Genetics Lab, Crudessence, Santropol Roulant & Rise Kombucha. Jesse can be found having a blast, creating in his Montreal Mile-End workshop.
